Next on Thirty Things: Describe your relationship with your parents.
They were the first people I loved. They taught me how to love. They taught me right from wrong. How could I not have a good relationship with them?
Me and my dad
The best man to ever have lived, according to me. We had an amazing relationship, my dad and me. I was a daddy’s girl. I looked up in awe at this seemingly invincible man so I was devastated when he passed away in 1999 when I was 14 years old. At least I get to be proud when people (to this very day) still talk about what a fantastic man his was. Hi was always there for people when they needed help and he never expected or wanted payment for helping people. His generosity and selflessness was inspiring and unmatched. I hope that in my life I can be half person he was.
Me and my mom
My mother is the person I love most in this world. We get along really well; when she is sad, I am sad and when she is happy I am content. She’s the most supportive and caring person I know and, much like my dad, tries to do what she can for those she loves. I learn new things from her all the time and I am grateful for these life lessons. I’m truly lucky to have this remarkable woman in my life.
