At the rate I’m going, I’ll only finish these Thirty Things by the time I’m 30. Number 11 on the list says: “Describe 10 pet peeves you have”.
I like to think I am a tolerant sort of person, but there are people/things/situations that I find annoying so I’ve added these to my list.
Here we go (in no particular order).
1. When people walk up escalators
Especially when there is a flight of stationary stairs next to it. Why not use that? Why walk up/down escalators and shove past people who want to be lazy and not walk? Why ruin their day like that? You weirdo.

How’s this for a mean trick? Haha.
2. “That awkward moment”
This is fine as long as it’s used to describe an actual AWKWARD moment. But as this became a trend on Twitter people seemed to have forgot the meaning of the word. For example: “That awkward moment when your cat dies.” This is not awkward. Why are you saying it is? It’s probably sad. But definitely not awkward.

THIS IS NOT AWKWARD!
3. Tardiness
You were invited for 5pm. Why would you show up at 7pm. The time on my invitation wasn’t optional. It’s what I prepared for. Be a good guest and honour the time the party starts.

Indeed.
4. Crowded places
I try to do my shopping in the middle of the month, when the masses aren’t around to ruin the experience for me. Also not a fan of festivals where people push and shove to move from one area to the next.

Too. Many. Humans.
5. When people talk over other people
Why do you do this? Have some respect and let them finish their thought before you chime in. That’s how conversation works. I talk. You listen. I finish. You respond. I listen. You finish. I respond. And so on and so forth.
6. Derogatory names/terms
It’s just plain rude. Stop it.
7. Bad spelling and grammar
I blame my job for this. Editing articles for a living can make even the tiniest typo scream at you so imagine seeing countless Facebook and Twitter updates littered with deliberate grammar and spelling “errors”. Also, why do people TyPe lYk dIZZ? Why? Urgh!

The way to my heart…
8. Clutter
Too much stuff is just too much.
9. People who stand too close
My personal space is personal so unless I want you in it back up a bit.
10 Bad service
If I’m paying for something, I expect to be provided with good service/products. Don’t act like you’re doing me a favour. I’m supporting your business and if you can’t deliver, I can take my money and go elsewhere.
Gosh, I just read all this again and I sound like a grouchy grump. I’m not. I promise. The task was to name describe 10 pet peeves. That was all I was doing. Really.
