I’m late getting this post up. I usually do these diary entries in the evening, but we were invited to have iftar at my aunt’s and uncle’s place and by the time I got home I was too tired to switch my computer on.
I can’t believe we’re a third of the way through the month. It goes by way too quickly. Blink and it’s Eid. So let’s not rush through each day and savour the beauty of this month for the short time it’s here.
Yesterday, the words “hurry” and “rush” were a foreign concept to me. I usually try to get things done quickly and work out a time table for my day so that I can be done with everything by a particular time.
However, yesterday my body went into relaxed mode and amazingly I got many things done. I think we sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves to do a million things in one day in a race against time.
After reorganising the fridge and cleaning the house, I made a couple of savouries to take along for the iftar table. Rostis and chicken pitas.
How blessed we were to have such a full and delicious meal at iftar, Alhamdulillah. With love and thanks to my my aunt Samgah and cousin Salaamah for all the delicious food.
There was also lovely fish and salad which I forgot to photograph. What was on your menu last night?
beautiful food! what are those crispy pockets?
Hi Micah. Are you referring to the triangles? We call those samoosas.
